About WOCMAT
15th International Workshop on Computer Music and Audio Technology, WOCMAT 2019, is a cross-industry international conference for publishing new types of computer music and audio technology. Initiated by NTHU, WOCMAT is an international conference built for developing and innovating audio technology, and for creating, playing, and appreciating new form of music. The conference combine multi-discipline team from music and technology industry, hosted by NTHU Interdisciplinary Program of EECS, Arts Institute, co-organized by Research Center of Music, Technology and Health, and also co-presented by NTHU Department of Computer Science, Institute of Information Systems and Applications, Taiwan Computer Music Association, NTHU Department of Electrical Engineering, NTHU Music Technology and Applied Music of the Music Department, China University of Technology Department of Digital Multimedia Design.
WOCMAT 2019 has invited heavyweight scholars from music technology industry as presenters, including Elaine Chew, Professor of Digital Media in Queen Mary university of London. Marc Battier, the cofounder with Leigh Landy and Daniel Teruggi of the Electroacoustic Music Studies Network. Zhang Xiaofu, the pioneer of CHinese modern music and the president of International Condederation of Electroacoustic music – CIME / ICEM. By exchanging experiences and communicating knowledge with the world-class outstanding institutions for academic research above, the development of music technology in Taiwan would progress and improve the combination of industry, official and university. Apart from calling for international papers, pieces of computer music and popular electronic music, this conference also hold the sound effects design in post production, which could increase the connection between this conference and entertainment industry, and advance the employment opportunities for the prospects of students as well.
第十五屆2019 WOCMAT (15th International Workshop on Computer Music and Audio Technology, WOCMAT 2019 ) 為一個提供發表新型態 電腦音樂與音訊技術的跨領域國際會議，其舉辦目的是希望由清大發起，以創造、演奏及欣賞新的音樂形式，以及開發創新音訊技術為主軸之國際會議。本次研究討會整合音樂與科技的跨領域團隊，由清大電機資訊學院主辦、藝術學 院共同主辦，合辦單位包含清華大學資工系、資訊應用研究所、台灣電腦音樂學會，協辦單位包含清華大電 機系、清華大電音樂系音樂工程及應用音樂組、中研院資訊科學研究所、中研 院資訊科技創新研究中心、交通大學聲音與音樂創意科技學程、開南大學資訊 傳播學系、客委會。
本屆 WOCMAT 將從眾多電子音樂作品以及音訊論文中徵選作品，於活動當天展演發表。即將邀請多位當今國際間資歷與聲望極高的電腦音樂、音景創作、音樂科技以及音訊處理學者參與 Workshop 及講座。目前擬邀請在computational music research上廣負盛名的Elaine Chew以及Marc Battier兩位講者擔任本屆之Keynote Speaker，他們將分享AI與Music"跨領域研究"之特性。除此之外本團隊也將與Marc Barttier之EMS團隊合作，邀請法國、日本、北京張小夫老師之電子音樂團隊一同來共襄盛舉，本屆之WOCMAT活動將會是是一場國際性電子音樂界之盛事。
